We are currently doing many insert/update transactions on our Mysql 8 server.

The duration of these transactions is really long and the problem is that we cannot predicate them (business choice)

We doubled the capacity of our machine (64GB in memory)But RAM and CPU do not seem to be more used than before.

Can I optimize these configuration ?

key_buffer_size=4G
innodb_buffer_pool_size=45G
innodb_log_file_size=4G
innodb_buffer_pool_instances=40
#innodb_buffer_pool_chunk_size=6G
#innodb_io_capacity = 4000
innodb_read_io_threads = 64
innodb_thread_concurrency = 0
innodb_write_io_threads = 64
sql-mode='NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION'
secure-file-priv = ""
tmp_table_size=32M
max_heap_table_size=32M
internal_tmp_mem_storage_engine=Memory
#big_tables=ON

#debug slow queries
slow_query_log=1
slow_query_log_file=/var/log/mysql/mysql-slow.log
long_query_time=15
#log_slow_admin_statements=1
#log_queries_not_using_indexes=1

A) SELECT COUNT(*) FROM information_schema.tables;

5827 / 1069

B) SHOW GLOBAL STATUS; after minimum 24 hours UPTIME

https://justpaste.it/9knnr

C) SHOW GLOBAL VARIABLES

https://justpaste.it/a5hlb

D) SHOW FULL PROCESSLIST

https://justpaste.it/4ykgt

E) STATUS; not SHOW STATUS, just STATUS;

Doesn't work

G) SHOW ENGINE INNODB STATUS;

https://justpaste.it/aryzs

RAM and CPU do not seem to be more used than before. Configuration is wrong..?

  • Please post TEXT results of SHOW GLOBAL VARIABLES; so I can begin my analysis of your configuration. Sep 28 at 11:22
  • @basiclawe Please ask Coty to provide you the results from Linux OS Command Prompt for ulimit -a so we know your Open Files limit on your host. Are you on their DEDICATED or SHARED hosting plan? Also ask Coty to provide 1st page of results from HTOP. So we know how many Cores are on your host. On your table count, do you mean you have 5827 innodb and 1069 ISAM tables?
