I am MSSQL Server Database Administrator. I work in a BI Team and manage an operational data store too. For data sources which their RDBMS is MySQL we have linked server to connect. Sometimes the connection issue occurs and can not connect. and sometime the connection becomes a slower. Administration of those server is not by me. Normally when I want to check the issue I need the documentation to start our conversation. How can I monitor the connection between my sql server and their MySQL to find out where is the root cause?

Sounds like a networking issue. You might find more help asking on the Network Engineering StackExchange.– J.D.Nov 4 at 12:10

Additional DB information request, please from your linked MySQL server. OS, Version? RAM size, # cores, any SSD or NVME devices on MySQL Host server? Post TEXT data on justpaste.it and share the links. From your SSH login root, Text results of: A) SELECT COUNT(*) FROM information_schema.tables; B) SHOW GLOBAL STATUS; after minimum 24 hours UPTIME C) SHOW GLOBAL VARIABLES; for server workload tuning analysis to provide suggestions for CONNECT tolerance.– Wilson HauckNov 7 at 15:56
