After downloading Oracle 19c, I ran terminal as administrator and followed the instructions based on the official documentation (https://docs.oracle.com/en/database/oracle/oracle-database/tutorial-create-advanced-container-db/index.html?opt-release-19c) all the way to the 19th step. However, the stup failed, and the following is the full error message:

Oracle Net Services configuration failed. The exit code is 1

I believe this might have something to do with my trace file. I looked through some other guides online, all of which have similar instructions as the official docs. What should my next course of action be, and let me know if I'm missing any key details.

  • The output tells you to check the trace file for details. Is there anything relevant in the trace file please? Can you edit it into the question if so?

It also says that you already have a listener configured with the same settings. Are you running any other Oracle servers?
