Im trying to restore a backup file to a new database, but i get an error like this

pg_restore: [archiver (db)] connection to database "master26082024" failed:
FATAL: database "master26082024" does not exist
DETAIL: The database subdirectory "base/8141877" is missing.

When I checked in the database folder, my new database oid is not there, so everytime i create a new database, it doesn't generate new folder under the database folder.

Any idea on why this is happening?

  • No, and I would suspect a malfunction of the operating system, the file system or the disk. Or something that removes other's directories (virus scanner?). But then, you told us nothing about your system or setup, so the question cannot be answered.
