Background:
I had a temporary SQL Server 2019 (v15) database on windows. I set up an UBUNTU 22.04 server with SQL Server 2022 (v16) and migrated the data to that new instance.

I then set up an external distributor following (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/linux/sql-server-linux-replication-tutorial-tsql?view=sql-server-linux-ver16).

When I initialize a pull subscription, I get the following error in my replication monitor.

Command attempted: /var/opt/mssql/data/ReplData\unc\PRO-DB0_PRO_DB_PROACEREPORTING\20240903141556\GetLatestTrackingNo_62.pre (Transaction sequence number: 0x0001837100001900009D00000000, Command ID: 67)

Error messages: The process could not read file '/var/opt/mssql/data/ReplData\unc\PRO-DB0_PRO_DB_PROACEREPORTING\20240903141556\GetLatestTrackingNo_62.pre' due to OS error 2. (Source: MSSQL_REPL, Error number: MSSQL_REPL20024) Get help: http://help/MSSQL_REPL20024 The system cannot find the file specified. (Source: MSSQL_REPL, Error number: MSSQL_REPL2) Get help: http://help/MSSQL_REPL2

The SQL Server agent is appending \unc\PRO-DB0_PRO_DB_PROACEREPORTING\20240903141556\GetLatestTrackingNo_62.preto my directory

/var/opt/mssql/data/ReplData

using backslashes instead of forward slashes, and thus cannot find my snapshot data. Any thoughts on a solution?

I completely disabled replication, restarted SQL Server service On publisher, distributor, and subscriber. No change. I changed the working directory to /var/opt/mssql/data/ReplData/unc/PRO-DB0_PRO_DB_PROACEREPORTING/20240903141556 and it just appended the same path to the end of that (/var/opt/mssql/data/ReplData/unc/PRO-DB0_PRO_DB_PROACEREPORTING/20240903141556\unc\PRO-DB0_PRO_DB_PROACEREPORTING\20240903141556\GetLatestTrackingNo_62.pre)
