I'm trying to import a .sql-file that I got by converting an .dbf-file. The problem is this line:

INSERT INTO address  values ('', '', 'Dekanat', '', 'Fachhochschule Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen', '', 'Von-Ossietzky-Str. 99', 'Göttingen', '', '37085', 'D', '', '', '', '', '0551/37050', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 0);

if I add it via query and just this line, it works.

As soon as I add it with the lines before it:

INSERT INTO address  values ('', 'Fritz', 'Walter', '', 'Recar GmbH', 'Vertrieb', 'Luisenstr. 14', 'Bachenau', '', '52365', 'D', '', '', '2', '', '09131 / 490 650', '', '', '', '', '09131 / 490 660', 'F_Walter@recar.de', 'http://www.recar.de', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 0);
INSERT INTO address  values ('Herr', 'Franz', 'Rotleder', '', 'Future Sound', 'Marketing', 'Michelbacher Str. 38', 'Kleinwestheim', '', '67523', 'D', '', 'FR', 'Sehr geehrter Herr Rotleder', '', '06882 / 528 500', '', '', '', '', '06882 / 528 600', 'F_Rotleder@fsound.de', 'http://www.fsound.de', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 0);
INSERT INTO address  values ('Herr', 'Michael', 'Schmeichel', '', 'MediaPoint GmbH', '', 'Musikallee 123', 'Hamburg', '', '20251', 'D', 'Vertriebsleiter', 'MS', 'Sehr geehrter Herr Schmeichel', '', '040 / 33 44 55', '', '', '', '', '040 / 33 44 56', 'M_Schmeichel@mediapoint.de', 'http://www.irgendwo.de/~michi/meine_homepage.html', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 0);
INSERT INTO address  values ('Herr', '', 'Fromm', '', 'Döring & Neumann', '', 'Kieler Str. 628', 'Hamburg', '', '22527', 'D', '', '', '5', '', '040/687334', '', '', '', '', '040/6524657', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 0);
INSERT INTO address  values ('', '', 'Dekanat', '', 'Fachhochschule Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen', '', 'Von-Ossietzky-Str. 99', 'Göttingen', '', '37085', 'D', '', '', '', '', '0551/37050', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 0);

phpMyAdmin gives me this error:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'INSERT INTO address values ('', '', 'Dekanat', '', 'Fachhochschule Hildesheim/H' at line 2

I tried it via importing and via query, nothing seems to work.

All values in the table are varchar(254) except the last one, that is a boolean.

  • Hidden characters before the last query maybe.Try to type it out manually. – Mihai May 5 '14 at 11:48
  • There are no hidden characters except CR and LF at every line end. – Leo Pflug May 5 '14 at 11:54
  • Every entry has exactly 31 columns. Just like I said I can add every entry alone. but combined mysql gives back an error for no reason. – Leo Pflug May 5 '14 at 12:01

    Try another client like heidisql,maybe it`s a phpmyadmin bug. – Mihai May 5 '14 at 12:04
  • @Mihai It was indeed a phpmyadmin bug ... I could import the file without any problems via Mysql Workbench. Thank you very much. – Leo Pflug May 5 '14 at 12:29
