I'm using the SQL server export wizard to export data to text flat file or Access file. The wizard gets stuck at 92960/92945 rows of about 153000 thousands. Nothing happens. Only after hours it continues. This happens all the time. Any idea? I happens always around the same amount of rows, not depending of the total amount of rows. Thanks

  • Anything running on sql server side while the import export wizard is running? What is the wait associated ? You can use bcp out to export data to text file as well. – Kin Shah Jan 14 '15 at 15:35
  • Or fire up procmon from sysinternals and see what's happening. I've exported millions before without issue. Since you're exporting to flat file, I assume you aren't dealing with LOB data but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in this assumption – billinkc Jan 14 '15 at 15:37
  • May be autogrowth is kicking in frequently - size your data and log files properly. – Kin Shah May 4 '16 at 14:19
