My company recently purchased an asset that uses a particular maintenance program with a MySQL backend. That company no longer exists, and I wish to import the records into a maintenance program I wrote. I took out the hard drive, copied the data directory to my system, and now I need to import the schema into my MySQL instance, in order to export it to Sql Server.

Now that I have the .frm and .ibd files, how would I get them into MySQL? I tried just copying the directory, but that didn't work.

any help would be appreciated.

The old db is v5.5.4, and my version is v5.7.15. I'd be happy to install a matching MySQL db if that would help.
