About

I've had a dual career which started in the late 70s, formally trained as an Anesthesiologist but with a hobby in electronics, I was quick to get on the bandwagon when PC's 1st came around in 1976-77. My 1st PC was a RadioShack TRS80, commonly known as a Trash80 and my 1st app was making an 800 question exam with multiple choice answers for passing my Board Exams. Questions were served up randomly as well as randomizing the possible answers. I drilled on it for months and It paid off with a 97% on my examns, my test scores in school were typically in the high 70's to low 80s. When the IBM PC became available, I jumped ship and have been with Microsoft ever since.

Passing Gas in small-town rural America left me with lots of time to grow with my hobby and as I did, and as PCs started making their way into medical offices, I found myself getting requests from colleagues to implement solutions for their practices. Thus began a part-time career in IT consulting, eventually becoming a reseller of medical office management systems. But I was bitten by the creative aspects of writing code to solve problems, so I got out of sales and focused on the technical side of creating solutions.

I retired in 2017, so to speak, but found retirement BORING! Fortunately, I had a number of bucket list items in the app development area that I could work on, and have been whittling down that list ever since. And when I get tired of doing that, there are always the normal things people do in retirement. For me, retirement is now the best of both worlds.
