Hello world! This question was asked in March 2017 and I can no longer entirely remember the solution which resolved it. In the end I may have just tried an alternate route as suggested below. The good news was that this was done in a virtual machine purely on test data, so nothing of value would have been lost. Happy trails!

Should be noted that these disadvantages are specific to row based logging, and that if you're already logging rows then you'll already be having these drawbacks.
