I have worked in the IT industry as a Network Administrator and programmer for more than 30 years and have recently decided to take a gap decade. :)

Previously: My normal role is to maintain everything that has power going to it. I often get thrown programming tasks to fill in my spare time (as if). Mostly little fixer uppers or I'm asked "Can you quickly make a temporary program that does this...." which then runs for the next 10 years.

Don't let the hat and the horses throw you off :) (no pun intended)
